Starting a new list

As I have mentioned before I work in a retail pharmacy. This allows me to get a discount there. But we can be pretty expensive, so sometimes even though I have a discount, some items are still cheaper at other places like Walmart for instance.

So I've come up with a new list to put in my list book. I'm going to keep a list of all the things that I regularly buy and how much it costs with my discount. This would include mostly personal care items, feminine products and certain drinks/treats I buy frequently. This way when I see a sale at another store, or I am in the store and see something that looks like a good price I can consult my list to see whether its cheaper to get it at work, or not.

I'm really glad I thought of this, and I think it will be helpful!

this is commonly called a price book. Lots of frugal/personal finance bloggers use them. I wrote a post about it a few months ago. If you google Price book, you'll lots of ideas for setting one up.

After a while, you will find you don't need to refer to your list anymore as the best prices will be ingrained in your memory.

I know what you mean. Some times even with my discount my store is more expensive.
